Winter in Dallas is not always harsh; especially in 2025 where there has been little to no cold, snowy, winter weather. Whether it is cold or not, the SKDCC neighbors know that the cold weather will come and they need to be prepared. By year end, we received and distributed 1,074 winter coats to the moms, dads, and kids in the area. Some wanted puffer jackets, some wanted nice warm wool coats, others wanted leather coats. No matter the request, we have been able to accommodate almost everyone.
How do we do this? We receive these coats from our amazing donors. Some organizations like Ursuline Academy, Cistercian School, Nothpark Presbyterian Church, Lake Highlands YMCA, Temple Emanuel, and many many individual donors.
We are so incredibly grateful and honored that when we put out a call for help for our neighbors, we are blessed with such a response.
